How to use

1. Pick the Currency pair - or choose Custom and type any XXX/YYY pair.
2. Read the detected Pip size: 0.0001 on four-decimal pairs, 0.01 on JPY-quote pairs.
3. Set Lot size (standard 100,000, mini 10,000, micro 1,000) or choose Custom and enter exact Units.
4. If the quote currency is not USD, enter 1 quote unit in USD - for example about 0.0067 for 1 JPY at USD/JPY 150 (no live rates, no API).
5. Press Compute pip value: per pip, per 10 and per 100 pips appear, plus the standard/mini/micro lot breakdown.
6. Use the number for position sizing only - spread, commission and swap come from your broker, and nothing here is a trading signal.

About this tool

A pip is the standardized conventional price step in forex: 0.0001 on most pairs (the fourth decimal) and 0.01 on yen pairs (the second decimal). Pip value equals pip size times position units, quoted in the pair's quote currency, then converted to your account currency. This calculator detects the pip size automatically for the major pairs and any custom XXX/YYY pair you type, sizes the position from standard (100,000), mini (10,000) or micro (1,000) lots or exact units, and converts using a quote-to-account price you enter - there is no live rate feed, and that honesty is the point.

For a USD account trading pairs that end in USD - EUR/USD, GBP/USD, AUD/USD, NZD/USD - the quote currency already is dollars, so conversion is skipped and one standard lot is exactly $10 per pip. For USD/JPY the quote currency is yen: one standard lot moves 1,000 yen per pip, worth 1,000 divided by the USD/JPY rate in dollars, so you enter roughly 0.0067 when the rate is 150. The per-lot breakdown rescales the same math to mini and micro sizes, and the 10-pip and 100-pip lines show how quickly leveraged moves become real money.

Keep the limits visible: pip value is position math, not a forecast, and it does not include spread, commission, swap or slippage, which vary by broker. Conversion uses the single price you type, so it ages as the market moves - re-enter a fresh rate for serious planning. Forex trading is leveraged and high-risk: a 100-pip adverse move on a standard lot is roughly $1,000, and losses can exceed deposits with some brokers.
