How to use

1. Fill the first row: Coin (name or symbol), Amount held, Buy price per unit and Current price per unit - prices in your own currency.
2. Add more coins with the + Add coin button; remove a row with its X button.
3. Read the results: Cost basis, Current value, P/L and P/L % per coin, plus portfolio totals and allocation bars.
4. Type a new Current price whenever you check an exchange - the tool never fetches prices by design.
5. Back up with Export JSON, restore with Import JSON (paste the file contents into the box), or start over with Clear all.
6. Data auto-saves to this browser's localStorage only - export a backup before switching devices or clearing site data.

About this tool

Most portfolio apps demand an API connection, an exchange login or your email. This tracker deliberately does none of that: it is a manual, private ledger that lives in your browser. Add each coin with its name, amount held, buy price per unit and current price per unit - entered in your own currency, taken from any exchange or price app you already use - and the tool computes cost basis, current value, profit or loss per coin, portfolio totals and an allocation chart. Everything auto-saves to localStorage on this device only: nothing is uploaded, no account exists, and Export JSON gives you a portable backup. This is record-keeping, not investment advice.

Why no live prices? Two honest reasons. First, privacy: a tracker that checks your holdings against live markets tells a price service what you own and when you look - this tool never contacts any server, so your positions stay yours. Second, reliability: free price endpoints get rate-limited, change or disappear, which would break the tool overnight. Instead you type the current price whenever you check the market; the math (cost basis = amount x buy price, value = amount x current price, P/L = value minus cost) is identical either way. Allocation percentages show what share of total portfolio value each coin represents right now.

Use it as a calm ledger rather than a trading dashboard: update prices daily, weekly or whenever you actually want to look. Multiple portfolios are handled with Export JSON and Import JSON - save each portfolio as a small file (long-term holdings, trading, a family member's) and paste it back anytime; Clear all wipes the local copy when you start fresh. One warning repeated on purpose: the P/L shown here is informational arithmetic on the numbers you enter. It is not investment advice and not a tax calculation - cost-basis methods (FIFO, average cost, specific identification) and tax treatment vary by country, so consult a professional for taxes.
